A photo from Wikipedia, upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/de/Transverse_myelitis_MRI.jpg Transverse myelitis, This 53 year old woman rapidly developed neurological symptoms, which resolved over the course of weeks. Followup MRI three months later demonstrated significant reduction is the size of the lesion. It is felt to be consistent with transverse myelitis.
Back pain (Lower and mid)
Left leg has a sensation of pins and needles traveling up from the feet and almost total loss of sensation at skin level, which is understood that she has MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
Stiffness at left ankle and knee
No other medical treatments were able to alleviate the pains and left leg's problems mentioned above. Thus, she went through three MRIs, which discovered that her spine has lesion. Doctors think that there are two possibilities:
She had that lesion even before the car accident but it was not active enough to cause the above symptoms and the car accident has triggered them.
The injury has caused the lesion, which has resulted in the above symptoms.
However, they know the fact that there is nothing they can do to help her.
Day 1, Treatment 1, Tue. 4/12/16 She was very skeptical about acupuncture because all other medical treatments have failed.
Frontal headache: 8~9/10
Low back pain: 8~9/10
Stiff left knee and ankle
No sensation on left leg
Started to have a little bit of sensation back
